THE FACTS
Petunia Lekgetho from Diepsloot, Joburg, is the sister of Masego Lekgetho, who died in an accident, leaving behind two minor children.
She had an objection about the amount they received for the children from the Road Accident Fund and decided to come to the SunDefender for help.
WHAT I DID
I spoke to Boniswa Mtshoba from the RAF to investigate and to let us know what was happening.
SOLUTION
Mtshoba said following investigation, the fund advised that it had no record of previous enquiries relating to claims lodged on behalf of the children.
She said any amount paid to the aunt by the fund was for funeral expenses, but the fund will assist by contacting the aunt to evaluate the possibility of lodging claims for loss of support on behalf of the minor children.
