PHUMLANI Mvulani from Bertrams in Joburg was dismissed from his job with Shmira Security last year.
He then applied for his provident fund – and found out his employer had not paid into the fund for a year. Phumlani contacted SunDefender for help.
WHAT I DID
I contacted Sindiswa Pharologanyo from the Private Security Sector Provident Fund to investigate.
SOLUTION
Pharologanyo found a partial payment of R11 538 was paid into the member’s bank account in February for contributions between 2013 and 2015. It was found that between September 2015 and September last year, no contributions had been made.
Phumlani was contacted and advised to lodge a complaint about the matter with the Pension Fund adjudicator.
