Joseph Damane from Small Farm in the Vaal, Gauteng did not know if he qualified for surplus funds from the Metal Industries Benefit Funds Administrators, so he came to the SunDefender looking for answers.
WHAT I DID
I spoke to Cynthia Mathipa at the fund administrators’ offices, who said she would investigate.
SOLUTION
Cynthia reported that according to their records, Joseph was a member of the Metal Industries Group Pension Fund and claimed his funds on 17 August 1990. All former members of the pension fund who claimed their funds before January 1995 are not eligible for surplus and therefore Joseph has no claim.
