DAVID HAS TO WAIT A BIT

accreditation

THE FACTS

DAVID Msimango from Soshanguve in Tshwane took out a loan with African Bank. He said he settled the loan late last year, but he later received a call from the bank informing him that he had overpaid the loan and he would get a refund. David was also shocked to learn that he had two more accounts in his name. When he went to the bank to investigate this, he was told there was no money owed to him. He came to the SunDefender asking for help.

WHAT I DID

I spoke to Sonette Botha, manager at the bank’s consumer advocate’s office who promised to investigate.

SOLUTION

Sonette discovered that the refund may only be processed later in the month. She will give out more details at a later stage.
