THE FACTS

ADMIRE Dube from Joburg said he was working for Scorpion Security when he and his co-workers requested a meeting with their employer.

They asked for a salary raise, but their employer refused.

Admire then went to the
Labour Department, where he found out that he wasn’t a registered worker.

When he confronted his employer, he was allegedly victimised and dismissed.

He claims he and the
other workers are not
registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority. He asked the SunDefender for help.

SOLUTION

Admire should refer his unfair dismissal case to the CCMA. If it’s been more than 30 days since he was dismissed, then he’ll have to apply for condonation, in which he should explains why the referral is late.

The commissioner will then decide if his reasons are acceptable.

You can strike back legally too!
