THIS club takes care of its members even after they have drawn their last breath.
Matlhalerwa 2013 Club is a burial club with a difference.
The 13-member group travels to a different part of the country at the end of every year.
The members always take their wives along to join the fun.
Malose Mosomane, chairman of the club based in Seabe Village, Mpumalanga, said the club spent two nights at Tamboti Bush Lodge in Hammanskraal, Tshwane last year.
“We want to build a good relationship with our wives,” said Malose.
He also said they’re planning to go to a game reserve in Mpumalanga at the end of this year.
“We will start saving for the trip once we know how much transport and accommodation costs,” he said.
The members contribute R100 a month for burials, and pay their members R6 500 in the event of a death.
The money is given to a member’s spouse, children or parents. If his or her parents are not alive, the money is given to their in-laws.
The club wants to recruit two more members this year. However, if you want to join you have to be a resident of Seabe to make it easier to attend meetings.
The club meets once every two months, and the venue changes with every meeting.
