FEELING like you have the sniffles? Then one of gogo’s cold remedies is what you need!
Ingredients
One oversized mug
250ml of boiling water
1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
Three whole cloves
Cinnamon stick
Two Rooibos tea bags
Two tablespoons honey
One tablespoon fresh lemon juice and/or a splash of apple cider vinegar
Slice of lemon
Preparation
- Boil the water, stir in the ginger, cloves and cinnamon stick. Add the tea bags and let them sit for five minutes then remove them.
- Microwave the cup for a minute to make it hot again. Stir in the honey and lemon juice (even a tot of whiskey – if you’re old enough). Drop in the slice of lemon.
- You can add extra honey, or even sugar to sweeten it more or hide the whiskey, but don’t skip the honey.
For the best results, you must first soak in a hot bath, dry off, and get snuggled in bed before you sip it while it’s still hot – so make it after the bath but before bed.
