Wimpy recently celebrated 50 years of being Mzansi’s original fave fast food outlet since opening all those years ago.

FIVE decades after a South African quick service restaurant that offers burgers, breakfast and coffee first started, it is still a favourite.

This month Wimpy celebrates 50 years of memorable moments since opening its first outlet on 1 September 1967 in Durban. Today they have more than 480 stores across the country.

Wimpy marketing manager Luise Peters said Wimpy didn’t just serve delicious meals but also moments where families, friends and loved ones left closer than when they came in.

“We hope that our customers will make time to celebrate our birthday with us so that we can make sure that they enjoy every moment for the next 50 years to come.”

Wimpy is famous for their delicious coffee, available in rain or sunshine, their mouth-watering classic breakfasts, famous grills and thick milkshakes.

As part of the 50th birthday celebration, Wimpy is offering a R50 breakfast combo, R50 birthday combo meal, and a Kinderjoy Surprise Egg with every kid’s combo meal.

With multiple franchises that have successfully opened across South Africa, Wimpy knows that a great meal is not about the speed at which the food is served to customers, but it is about the experience of bringing families and friends together, and this is the standard you will find at Wimpy Franchises.

Follow #Maketime to celebrate and enjoy every moment at Wimpy branches all across the country.
