MOTHERS are always taking care of their families, so as the world celebrates Mother’s Day, take time and do something special for your mum.
You don’t just have to spoil her with food alone, plan your activities for the day ahead of time!
- Breakfast in bed is always a good option. You can try a simple recipe such as a healthy sandwich packed with avocado, cold meat and cheese, or a pancake topped with strawberry, cream and syrup.
- A day at the spa is not a bad idea as well. There are a number of places that have Mother’s Day specials such as Mangwanani Spa, Cradle Health Spa, The Fairways Spa, Vusalela Day Spa and the Pyramid Day Spa.
- Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden will be hosting its annual Mother’s Day Concert. The show will feature South African Music Award nominees Tiro and Henry Van Dyk – who’s said to be the local version of Josh Groban.
Children will have a field day playing, jumping on castles, getting face paintings and more. A fun day for the whole family!
Admission cost: adults R70, pensioners R50, students R40 and pupils R15.
Book online by visiting www.webtickets.co.za, but the fees cost the same as at the gate.
- Kaya FM is also celebrating Mother’s Day with an annual concert taking place at the Pretoria Botanical Gardens on 14 May, from 10 am to 5pm. The concert has Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbulu as well as Zamajobe listed to perform.
Mothers will get a chance to be spoiled with massages and makeovers while listening to the soulful sounds of Letta Mbulu and Caiphus Semenya.
Tickets cost R150 for adults and R70 for kids – between the ages of three to 12 – at Ticketpro.
- Hot 91.9FM has just confirmed that they are also hosting a Mother’s Day concert at the Joburg Zoo on Sunday, 14 March, with etv.
