FINDING out you are pregnant is scary, but not knowing what’s happening or getting the wrong advice is worse.
The new Huggies Brand Mums programme covers various topics such as the specialness of pregnancy, the dos and dont’s of pregnancy, what to expect when in labour, the importance of bonding with your newborn baby, and breastfeeding.
Nthabiseng Leso, the senior brand manager at Huggies, said the other reason for the programme was that mothers often received wrong information from friends and family about how to care for their babies.
“Without the proper information and knowledge, mums will find this wonderful journey challenging. So we decided to step in to provide them with the correct information.”
They have a team of well-trained nurses who go to healthcare centres daily to offer soon-to-be mums important information.
They work with the Department of Health and public clinics to make sure that every woman knows what to do when they fall pregnant.
“Pregnancy has its challenges but nothing compares to the joy of motherhood,” Nthabiseng said.
They also offer the mothers a booklet after their discussion which contains lots of information to help them make the right decisions.
