DID you fail your matric last year?
Don’t lose hope.
The Department of Basic Education is giving those who failed 2016 matric exams a second chance!
There is an opportunity to rewrite your matric exams in June or November.
Registrations are open until 15 March.
Also, if you just want to improve your marks on your National Senior Certificate you must visit the closest education district offices to apply.
Pupils who would like to take advantage of this opportunity to complete their school leaving qualification will be helped by a support initiative called Second Chance Matric Support Programme.
The support programme is aimed at helping pupils get creative so that they are better prepared to rewrite the exams.
There will be face-to-face classes taught by grade 12 teachers with excellent track records. Classes will be held at 50 venues in rural and semi-rural areas nationwide.
There will also be multimedia broadcasting solutions throughout the year in various schools and channels around the country.
Here is a list of some of the programmes:
- Internet Broadcasting Programme (IBP) at selected schools in the Free State province.
- HD Open View Television Broadcasts – Channel 201 on DStv – if you are not subscribed it will screened at 36 venues nationally.
- DStv Channel 319, Mindset Television Broadcasts.
- SABC Education Geleza Nathi broadcasts weekdays on SABC 1 from 5am to 6am with repeats at 11pm.
