TEACHER and well known consultant, Peter Drucker, says that the best way to predict the future is to create it.
And this is exactly what Raizcorp, a for-profit business and investor in Radley Private School, plans to do.
In a creative move the company has not only improved the curriculum, but is also addressing the physical layout of the school and the manner in which teachers teach – all in the name of entrepreneurship.
“At Radley, we need to make sure that we understand and address the unique academic and entrepreneurial potential of each and every pupil,” said Allon Raiz, CEO and founder of Raizcorp.
Raiz said they wanted to create the next generation of entrepreneurs, and those with an entrepreneurial mindset.
“It is fairly well known that South Africa has one of the lowest rates of entrepreneurship in the developing world. We require a different educational approach to change these statistics.”
Pupils will be exposed to entrepreneurship every day as it will be integrated into the curriculum and will not be a standalone subject as in some schools currently.
“At Radley, classrooms need to be inspirational, comfortable, and a place where you want to be instead of a dreaded, uncomfortable environment with some adult droning away in the background.”
