To get good matric results, every pupil must get a good quality education!
Mike McDonald, CEO of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA), says quality education is important, even if you are in a rural area.
He said grades 8 and 9 were important foundation years.
“Yet we are finding that many students, especially those in more rural and impoverished areas, don’t get enough grounding to continue with mathematics, physics, accounting and other subjects,” he said.
For the first time in Mzansi, pupils in grades 8 and 9 can now turn their cellphone into an experienced and engaging teacher for every lesson they will need in key subjects – without requiring an internet connection or incurring data costs!
Usanda Mpengesi, who matriculated in 2015, said sometimes reading and studying can be difficult, but that the videos made studying easy.
Paul Maree, Paper Video co-founder and mathematics teacher, said they wanted to include more pupils.
By now the partnership between Paper Video and ASSA has seen the sponsorship of their video-embedded exam books to over 12 000 pupils, thanks to roll-out projects with the likes of Momentum, Metropolitan, Old Mutual, SAB and Investec.
