FOOTBALL has seen some wild celebrations in the last week!
And who wouldn’t want to be part of the celebrations of victorious teams from across the world as they clinched their league titles?
- Sunday saw the English Premier League season draw to a close with Arsenal missing out on the top four and Uefa Champions League football for the first time in 20 years as Liverpool won a place among Europe’s elite. But the big news broke last week already when Chelsea clinched the title – without Jose Mourinho.
- Real Madrid won their first La Liga title since 2012 thanks to a final day victory at Malaga. Cristiano Ronaldo scored early on to settle the nerves, latching onto Isco’s through ball to step around Carlos Kameni and tap into an empty net. Karim Benzema added their second goal.
- Juventus claimed a record sixth straight Italian Serie A title with a 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Crotone in the penultimate round on Sunday.
- Bidvest Wits took home the SA PSL title for the first time in history.
