SUPERSPORT United have confirmed the appointment of Eric Tinkler as their as their new head coach on a three year deal.
The 46-year-old coach was confirmed by United on Thursday, replacing Sturt Baxter who is now South Africa’s senior national team (Bafana Bafana) coach.
The former Bafana Bafana captain will take charge of Matsatsantsa from 1 July.
He joins Matsatsantsa after serving a one year spell which was a success with Cape Town City FC where he managed to finish thirds in the Absa Premiership and won the Telkom Knockout title.
In 2012-13 season, Tinkler was appointed as assistant coach at Orlando Pirates, he assisted the Soweto based side to qualify for the MTN 8, Telkom Knockout, Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions league final.
After taking full reign at the Buccaneers as head coach, Tinkler led Pirates to the Confederation Cup and Nedbank Cup Final in the 2015/16 season.
His first major silverware came in 2017 after leading Cape Town City to the Telkom Knock-Out.
