Former Bloemfontein Celtic striker Moses Spandeel has announced his retirement from football following a career spanning over 15 years.

Spandeel established himself at Phunya Sele Sele after gaining promotion from the development team in 2002 and went on to spend the majority of his playing days with Celtic.

The 36-year-old finally ended his long association with Siwelele in 2012 when he joined NFD outfit Blackburn Rovers. He played for Mthatha Bucks last term after a spell in the ABC Motsepe League with Hungry Lions.

Bucks confirmed the announcement of Spandeel's retirement via their Twitter account.

"We would like to bid farewell to Moses Spandeel, the 36-year-old speed merchant having decided to hang up his boots," the NFD club tweeted.
