SUPERSPORT United forward Thabo Mnyamane reckons his team won’t struggle to beat Al-Ahly Shendi.
Matsatsantsa a Pitori welcome the Sudanese outfit
tonight in the first round of the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup at
Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwane (6pm).
Mnyamane’s side is going into this match having lost the
first leg 3-2 in Sudan a week ago. But having scored those important two away
goals, the former University of Pretoria man is convinced Supersport will win
with ease.
“It’s our home game, so we have to win. In fact, we will
win,” Mnyamane said.
“The conditions here at home are far better than in
Sudan. There, we drove four hours from the hotel to the stadium in 45 degrees of
heat. This is not an excuse. Here at home, however, we will win
comfortably.”
The 24-year-old is expected to increase his goal tally
against Shendi.
On Wednesday, he scored his seventh goal of the season
when Matsatsantsa faced National First Division side, Royal Eagles 2-1 in its
first Nedbank Cup title defence.
Last Thursday, Mnyamane saw his first season at
SuperSport United lit by being included in the Bafana Bafana team to play
back-to-back friendlies against Guinea Bissau and Angola on 25 and 28 March,
respectively.
The left-footed player said he was happy about being
included in Owen Da Gama’s team.
“I’m always shocked when I see my name in the Bafana
list. It’s always an honour to be part of the team.”
Mnyamane is expected to join his Bafana team-mates after
the Shendi match, for its first training session at Durban’s Moses Mabhida
Stadium.
On Saturday, Bafana takes on Guinea-Bissau at the same
venue (3pm). The Angola game follows next.
