ORLANDO PIRATES coach, Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic, is demanding more from his players.

This after they drew 0-0 with Maritzburg United in a top-of-the-table clash at Harry Gwala Stadium, in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday night.

Bucs had chances to bury the match, especially in the second half, but they squandered their opportunities.

Said Sredojevic: “We played a very organised team in a very tough place. But I think we should be faster and better in our ball circulation.

“We’re in the process of building and I’m happy with the progress. But I still feel that my players could have done better.

“Yes, we didn’t start the match the way we wanted, but after 15 minutes we started to pick up. We could have finished the match in the first half.

“Having said that, I expect my players to be more arrogant in their approach. I also would like to see individuals taking more responsibility.”

The two teams still have equal points in four matches and the Team of Choice are ahead of Bucs due to superior goal difference.
United coach, Fadlu Davids, said his team had passed yet another test.

Said Davids: “I’m extremely proud of my players. They really passed the test of grinding the result in a difficult situation.

“In the first half, I believe we should have sealed it. But it’s understandable that my players dropped a little bit and were unable to take a chance. Look, we’re still learning and players are responding well.

“In time, everything will come together. I’m satisfied with the draw and am proud of my players.

“We were playing our third match in six days. Remember, we were coming from an intense derby against AmaZulu not so long ago.”

The two coaches have no time to dwell on this draw as they have other tough opponents to face this week.

On Tuesday, Pirates welcome Cape Town City at Orlando Stadium in Soweto (7.30pm), while the Team of Choice face rejuvenated Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday at home, at the same time.
