THERE is certainly a lot to look forward to as PSL action returns after a three-week break tonight.

As if the Absa Premiership’s return isn’t exciting enough, the fixture list has thrown out a humdinger of a match as Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits square off.

The two sides meet at Bidvest Stadium (7.30pm) in one of the three fixtures today. Orlando Pirates and Golden Arrows meet in another clash, while Cape Town City host Baroka FC .

The Brazilians have just ended a three-match losing streak, pummelling Orlando Pirates 3-1 before the break.

They occupy eighth spot in the table with 12 points from seven matches, while Wits are still stuck in the bottom half, also with eight points, but having played nine games.

It’s the consequence of an inconsistent run of results for the Students, who have barely looked like the team that annexed the league championship last season.

Yet the two sides will be quite confident since it’s fairly early days and they can still mount serious league title challenges.

Wits come off a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout semifinal, but their league worries haven’t gone away.
