BLOEMFONTEIN Celtic have continued their impressive performance in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.
Young Siwelele clinched their second victory of the new Diski season when they defeated Orlando Pirates 2-1 at Rand Stadium on Sunday.
Last year’s runners-up have vowed to improve on their previous campaign – and judging by their display of skill in the two games, they can surely do it if they maintain consistency.
Celtic thumped defending champs Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 in their opening match.
Head coach Ditheko Mototo said: “We are a work in progress, we are happy with results of the hard work we put in at training. But there’s still a lot of work to do to be where we want to be.”
Sundowns are seemingly battling this time around, having loaned out most of the players who won the title last season to National First Division teams. The Young Brazilians have lost both their matches, conceding five goals without scoring a single one.
Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City are two other clubs that have not registered a single point in the first two rounds of MDC matches.
Chiefs opened matters with a 3-2 defeat to Golden Arrows and more recently lost 1-0 to Baroka FC.
Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane said: “I’m disappointed with the way we performed in the first two games. We are trying to bring in youngsters but it will take time, there’s nothing we can do about it.”
