KHAMA Billiat was Mamelodi Sundowns instant hero on Tuesday night when the Brazillians defeat Absa Premirship reigning champions Bidvest Wits at their own backyard, Milpark Stadium.

Billiat who was introduced in the second half of the match replacing Thepelo Morena scored a brace which inspired his side to a 2-0 victory over the Clever Boys.

Sundowns added more pressure on defending champions as this was their sixth defeat since the league started in August.

After 10 games of the 2017-18 season Wits are sitting second from the bottom with eight points, one ahead of Platinum Stars who are at the foot of the table.

There was action from the first minutes. The Clever Boys had a great chance to open the scoreboard after the half-hour mark when Elias Pelembe crossed for Daine Klate, but he missed the ball in front of goal.

The visitors ended the half strongly and almost took the lead when Sibusiso Vilakazi's effort skimmed the crossbar.

In other matches that took place on Tuesday night,Orlando Pirates were held to a goalless draw by Golden Arrows at Orlando Stadium, while in the top of the table clash Cape Town City drew 1-1 with blog leaders Baroka FC at Cape Town Stadium.
