THE South African Uunder-20 women’s team, Basetsana reported for their camp on Monday as they are preparing for their second leg of the Fifa Under-20 Womens World Cup qualifiers against Namibia.
In the first leg which took place at Dobsonville Stadium last Sunday, 17 September. Basetsana trashed Namibia 5-0 and now they will be hoping to continue where they left off in the first leg to ensure they qualify for their maiden U20 Women’s World Cup which is set to take place in France later (5-24 August) next year.
Basetsana will resume their preparations this afternoon at the NIKE Training Centre in Soweto for the return leg scheduled for Sunday, 1 October at the Sam Nojuma Stadium in Windhoek, Namibia.
Basetsana have been lethal in front of goal while keeping things neat and tidy in their last two matches. Their 5-0 win over Namibia was preceded by the very same score line victory over the senior Swaziland women’s national team in their own backyard.
Head coach of Basetsana, Maud Khumalo has only made one change to the squad of 22 that played against Namibia, bringing on goalkeeper, Robyn Coetsee from the HPC in the place of Mamelodi Sundowns shot stopper Lorreta Mokoena.
Basetsana travel to Windhoek on Friday.
