WITH the Telkom Knockout final having sold out in hours, now Kaizer Chiefs want their fans to travel with them from Durban to Cape Town on the same week!
Amakhosi play Mamelodi Sundowns in the final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on the Day of Reconciliation (16 December) before moving down the coast to take on league leaders, Bidvest Wits, in the Absa Premiership clash at Cape Town Stadium on 19 December.
Chiefs’ marketing director Jessica Motaung said that the plan is to ensure that the Glamour Boys travel with the team from Durban to the Cape.
She said: “This is our Christmas present for our coastal fans and we have to make sure that the festivities continue from eThekwini all the way down to the Cape. We want our fans to travel with us either by road or flights, where we will hopefully all be celebration mode because we aim to win the Cup.”
Tickets for the 55 000 seater venue in the Cape cost R60 and available through all Computicket outlets.
Chiefs will play two more league games in Cape Town against Platinum Stars on 24 January and then SuperSport United on 20 February.
Stadium Management SA (SMSA), who have moved this fixtures from Joburg to the Cape, said the interest of having Chiefs play three of their home games in Cape Town has been resoundingly positive.
SMSA spokesman, Sisa Majola, said: “Capetonians have shown incredible interest in having their favourite team play closer to them. People on various media platforms said they started to plan for these fixtures when it was announced. What I can say is, there are some exciting initiatives being lined up.
“I hope they will come in droves and rightfully own Cape Town Stadium on 19 December.”
