BIDVEST Wits have confirmed the signing of a former Orlando Pirates Ghanaian defender Edwin Gyimah from Swedish club Helsingborg.

Gyimah surfaced at Wits in November last year and reported that he had agreed to a deal after a trial stint under the watchful eye of Coach Gavin Hunt.

Wits have now confirmed that the club has secured the signature of the 26-year-old Ghanaian, bolstering Hunt’s squad as they look to turn their fortunes around in second-half of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Ghanaian is the second player to join the students in this transfare windows as the club last week confirmed the signing of former Cape Town City striker Lehlohonolo Majoro.

The club recently confirmed that they parted ways with their Montenegrin defender, Slavko Damjanovic, after the player spent just four months with them.

The Students also confirmed that Sifiso Myeni has been recalled from his loan stint with SuperSport United.

Wits also snapped up Denis Weidlich, Robyn Johannes and Thobani Mncwango on pre-contracts, which will see the trio making their move to the Braamfontein based outfit in July.
