GIOVANNI Solinas has RESIGNED from his head coaching position at Free State Stars following allegations of interference in his job, SunSport has reliably learnt.

A source close to the club told SunSport that the Italian born mentor handed in his resignation to management due to interference, allegedly by one of his assistants.

Said the source: “Solinas had a meeting with the management and players (yesterday). He told players he missed his family and was home-sick.

“That’s not the truth. He had a week gap recently and returned home to see his family. The coach is not happy that his assistant always goes to the management to oppose what he is doing.”

There are also allegations of division among Stars players and other members of the technical staff.

It is also apparent that the club aims to kick out several players, such as Daouda Diakite, Robert Sankara, Reabetswe Rankoti, Sydney Masana, David Nkausu, Hendrik Somaeb, Angula Da Costa, Themba Tshabalala and S’thembiso Ngcobo.

Solinas’ assistant Bradley Carnell was surprised to hear about the allegations when contacted yesterday: “I am sitting here now with the coach and we’re having lunch with general manager Rantsi Mokoena. The coach wouldn’t be here if there
