MAMELODI Sundowns captain Ramahlwe “Rama” Mphahlele will have his final meeting with the Brazilians bosses tomorrow to try and resolve the contractual negotiations deadlock.

But it’s not only Rama who is yet to renew his contract with Downs, as coach Pitso “Jingles” Mosimane has also not extended his deal with the Brazilians.

Rama, who is strongly linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, is contracted to Downs until 30 June, so in effect a failure to sign tomorrow would mean he has accepted Amakhosi’s lucrative offer, made to him before the end of last season.

Chiefs have indicated that they will unveil all their new signings at the end of the month, after letting go 20 players at the end of the previous PSL campaign.

Rama was unable to shed light on what to expect from tomorrow’s meeting when contacted by SunSport yesterday. However, club boss Sizwe Nzimande indicated that they were still waiting for Rama to come to them and state whether he’s staying or leaving.

“We’ve presented our offer to him and we expect him to talk to us – be that by phone or other means,” Nzimande said yesterday.

“We know that he has had an offer from Chiefs but he must decide.”

Nzimande added that they were not worried about Mosimane’s contract, as they were positive he would sign. “We’ve longed to start talks with Pitso but couldn’t disturb him earlier in the year with contracts, as he was focused on the PSL championship race, Caf Champions League and Nedbank Cup,” he explained.

“We are still talking to Pitso but can only hope he will sign, because we’re planning together for next season.”

The Brazilians are yet to announce when they will discipline Anthony Laffor, who returned late from international duty and had apparently shown little remorse for his conduct.

Meanwhile, Downs are still on the lookout for Bongani Zungu’s replacement after he left the club to join Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes.
