THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) dream continues for Thabo Mnyamane!
The 24-year-old is now enjoying his football in the colours of SuperSport United.
In fact Mnyamane is turning into Matsatsantsa a Pitori’s talisman this season. Since his move to the Tshwane giants at the beginning of the season, Mnyamane is enjoying the best time of his career.
The former University of Pretoria striker has scored six goals in all competitions in 13 matches.
Mnyamane had a good run going into the Premiership Christmas recess scoring four league goals and winning a couple of man-of-the-match awards.
Mnyamane joined AmaTuks from North West Mafikeng University’s Varsity Football team in 2013.
But it’s at Matsatsantsa a Pitori under the watchful eye of coach Stuart Baxter where he seems to be enjoying his football.
Last season he struggled with his
form at AmaTuks and his confidence seemed to nosedive.
But Baxter’s pep talk transformed him into a lethal striker.
Mnyamane has rediscovered the form that prompted AmaTuks to offer him his first professional contract.
The year 2016 will go down as one of the best years for Mnyamane as he featured in his first domestic cup final when Matsatsantsa lost 2-1 to Cape Town City FC in the Telkom Knockout final in December.
Baxter’s men are on top of the Absa Premiership table with 25 points from 14 matches.
Mnyamane’s goal is to help the Tshwane outfit finish their campaign as the Premiership champions.
Mnyamane said: “The coach (Baxter) told me that he believes in me. He told me that I can do better than I was doing at AmaTuks.
“I’m at a different club and he encouraged me to double my efforts in training.
“I’m also getting support from the other players and I’m enjoying the best football of my life.
“I want to end the season with a league winner medal dangling around my neck.”
Mnyamane vowed that he wouldn’t rest on his laurels and that he would continue from where he left off in the first half of the season.
Mnyamane added: “I’m living my dream and I want to continue scoring goals for my club.”
The Sebokeng born lanky forward is also hoping to return to the national team set-up Bafana Bafana.
Mnyamane so far has two international caps.
