Highlands Park striker Collins Mbesuma admits he is hopeful of creating an effective partnership with Charlton Mashumba, ahead of Wednesday's clash with Kazier Chiefs.

Mashumba who joined in the off season from Jomo Cosmos was said to be a target for Amakhosi but joined the newly promoted side alongside last seasons Premiership top-scorer.

And after their opening day 2-1 win over Baroka FC, where both Mbesuma and Mashumba scored - the former Chiefs hitman feels they can add to his former teams woes on Wednesday evening.

"We've been training together for six weeks, so we understand each other and we hope this is the beginning of good things," he told reporters prior to the clash at the Makhulong Stadium.

Mbseuma scored 35 goals in all competitions for Chiefs during his only season at the club before joining English side Portsmouth in 2005.
