New Free State Stars coach Serame Letsoaka is delighted to make a return to the club where he started his football career as a player.
The experienced coach has also made it clear that he wants to avoid relegation in 2016/17 in order to turn the club into a force in the years to come.
Letsoaka was appointed on Wednesday and will take over from the departed Giovanni Solinas as the man in charge of Ea Lla Koto.
The 53-year-old's previous job was with Bloemfontein Celtic, although he left the club late last year after Siwelele experienced a dip in form. Nonetheless, the former Bafana Bafana assistant coach expressed his excitement at joining Stars and confirmed his intentions.
He said, "I am excited to come back home, this is the club where I started my career as a professional player. When comes to winning the silverware, I am in fact the last captain to lift the trophy.
"It will be nice again to lift it again this time as a coach. Most importantly it is to get the team away from the relegation zone and to get stability in the team, and we build the team and make sure that we are the force we used to be."
Stars' first game under their new coach is a tough away assignment against Kaizer Chiefs on 7 February. The action gets underway from 19:30 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
