Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo will miss his side's next Premiership encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns due to ankle surgery.

The 27-year-old was injured during Chiefs' 3-0 Nedbank Cup victory over Stellenbosch FC and has now been ruled out for the outing against the Brazilians on 1 April.

According to the club's official website, the Bafana Bafana international sustained a fractured bone in his ankle and will have to go under the knife in the near future.

The Glamour Boys physiotherapist Dave Milner said: "Brilliant will undergo surgery on Friday." Chiefs' number one Itumeleng Khune is fit for the game against Sundowns and it appears Luthando Sixhaso will act as his deputy for the match at FNB Stadium.
