New Ajax Cape Town signing Rheece Evans says he is ready to get his career back on track, after completing an 18-month loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite his parent club's recent success in the Premiership and CAF Champions League, Evans has endured a nightmare period over the past three seasons at the Brazilians - with 103 minutes of first team football.

After a move to the Urban Warriors failed to materialise last season, the former Maritzburg United right-back was left bewildered at Chloorkop, but since being granted his move from Masandawana, the 26-year-old says he's generally impressed with the professional set-up at Ikamva and new head coach Stanley Menzo.

"It was very frustrating [at Sundowns] because I felt like I had a lot to prove and that I wasn't given a fair opportunity and chance to play," he told the club's website.

"Now being here; I feel like I have a lot to prove and gain. A lot to make up for, lost time to catch up on and obviously throw my name out there and make people hear about me again.

"I didn't participate much in the league win at Sundowns, just sat on the bench a few times so winning the league - it didn't feel like I deserved it.

"Winning the Champions League, it was half-hearted - traveled with the team to all the countries, was on the bench for the majority of the matches, but not playing in the semifinals or final it didn't feel as deserving as what many other players would have felt.

"First thing I have noticed is that he [Menzo] likes to enforce discipline, everything is run on a time and everything is down to scale.

"He values discipline highly and enforces it - I am really impressed and happy about that."
