GOLDEN Arrows assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi is convinced that they will add to Cape Town City’s woes when the teams meet in an Absa Premiership clash at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu tonight (7.30pm).
City have suffered their first defeat, to Bidvest Wits, who obliterated the newcomers 3-0 in the first leg of their MTN8 semifinal on Saturday.
Ncikazi said they would have no mercy for the bleeding Capetonians, who will be out to redeem themselves at their KZN opponents’ expense.
“This is a must-win for Abafana Bes’thende,” said Ncikazi.
“Eric Tinkler has assembled a good, strong team. But just like other teams, they too have their weaknesses. We took note of them losing their first match away and hope that trend continues. I hope they continue to be bad travellers.”
Arrows had also lost their last away game to Orlando Pirates, but Ncikazi said they had no excuse not to do well against City.
He explains: “We have worked on all our mistakes. Now we’re looking to have a good game and get maximum points. We will be at home, which means no excuses.”
Ncikazi will be without the experience of Kudakwashe Mahachi and Kwanele Hlongwane.
“Mahachi returned from his international duties injured. Kwanele is ill and won’t be available.
“It is a shame that we will not have those players available for this important match,” added the coach.
