JOMO COSMOS captain, Frederic Nsabiyumva, believes their chances of bouncing back to the Absa Premiership will rely heavily on their remaining three fixtures of the first round. Cosmos are 12 points behind log leaders, Thanda Royal Zulu, and their chances of returning to the land of milk and honey could be slim, if they lose those games.
Ezenkosi will welcome Magesi FC at Olen Park Stadium today in one of the remaining outings.
They will then visit Royal Eagles at Harry Gwala Stadium, and host Santos FC in their last match of the first round.
The Burundian defender revealed their inconsistency has caused unnecessary pressure in the squad.
He explained: “The team is doing well, but results are not coming. I’m unhappy with the way we’ve been playing.”
So far, Ezenkosi have collected 16 points and are in a position that has made them miserable.
“We should be competing with the best teams in the top five. The remaining fixtures of the first round will determine whether we will fight for the top berth or not in the second round. We can’t settle for the play-off spot, it’s no guarantee for a place in the top flight,” said Nsabiyumva.
