Kaizer Chiefs manager Steve Komphela believes that dropping points in the Premiership is something that can be expected over the course of a long season.

Komphela saw his side lose their opening game of the campaign 2-1 to Bidvest Wits, however, he went on to stress that you don't get that luxury in cup competitions..

Chiefs were disappointing in their defeat to the Clever Boys although they rallied in the last 10 minutes and nearly snatched a draw.

Nonetheless, he knows that Chiefs' clash with Cape Town City in the MTN8 quarter-final is a must win.

He told the club's official website: "In league matches you have a bit of room for error - there are 30 matches to play and a mixed bag of 16 teams competing."

He added, "One thing you know about MTN8 is that it is Wafa Wafa, which means that there is no second chance. It calls for maximum effort. I know City from their Mpumalanga Black Aces days, they are not new boys. The club is run by football people."
