Acts 16:9 says: “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed with him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”
The people of Macedonia needed spiritual intervention or help and had prayed to God to send them help. God told Paul in a vision to go to Macedonia to provide the much needed help.
The psalmist (20:2) pleaded for help, saying, “Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion”. David affirmed that help comes from the Lord.
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
“He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keeps thee will not slumber.” (Psalm 121:1-3)
Prophet Isaiah declared help to come even from strangers: “And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.” (Isaiah 61:5)
Child of God, there is help coming to those who believe. In order for your help to come you need to pray. When you stand up to pray, do not pray in self-pity and cry to the Lord for help. Secondly, you need to sow the seed of help by helping others.
Give help and you will receive help.
No one is an island. We need each other. Therefore, we must be willing to give help so that in the time of your need, others will help you. Don’t suffer in silence, cry out for help.
God is the ultimate source of our help. I urge you to have faith in God and seek His divine intervention.
