SECOND Corinthians (4:7-9) says: “Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us.
“We are pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed . . . ”
Many people are familiar with the above experience of life, where we are often pressed, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down.
As you read this article today, you may be at the verge of giving up your dreams, marriage, career or business because odds seem to be against you.
I write this article with the intention to encourage you never to give up. It is okay to be pressed but refuse to be crushed. Yes, you are perplexed and confused, but refuse to be in despair.
You might be going through persecution but refuse to forsake your ambitions and dreams. Of course, you have been struck down several times, but child of God refuse to be destroyed. A knock-down is not a knockout. Many great men travelled this same path to greatness.
David attests to this in Psalm 129:2: “Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up. Yet they have not prevailed against me.”
The Bible tells us the reason for all these troubles is the treasure hidden within our earthen vessel, our human bodies. There is a treasure the enemy is after. Satan wants to destroy the treasure in you and thus exposes you to many dangers, hoping you will give up in the face of challenges.
It is okay to be pressed but don’t let the pressing crush your dreams.
