Greatness in life lies in the ability to dream. Within every human being lives a vision for the expected future.
Proverbs 29:18 states: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” A vision is an expected end; it is a dream or a desire of a future. Joseph was a dreamer and his end became the very dream he possessed since the days of his youth.
In Habakuk 2:2, the Lord God told prophet Habakuk to write the vision down in a simple manner so that it was readable. One has to have a vision of what they desire to achieve in the future. Once one has envisioned the future, there is a need to develop a plan as a course of action on how to attain that dream. Many people failed to realise their dreams or potential because they never put any effort into their dream.
For the vision to become a reality, a plan is required. A plan is a strategy, a road map or a plan of action. It is a written account of an intended future course of action aimed at achieving specific goals or objectives within a specific timeframe. A plan explains in detail what needs to be done, when, how and by whom, and often includes best case, expected case, and worst case scenarios. Once the plan is crafted it is important to submit that plan to the Lord.
Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Satan will seek to resist every good plan because he is the thief that came to steal, kill and destroy. Therefore without the grace of God, dreams die, plans perished and hopes are crushed. It takes God for great plans to be established. A wise king said, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” (Proverbs 16:9).
Plans are committed to the Lord through prayer and by faith. Child of God even after you prayed, Satan will still attempt to attack your plans. Therefore, you have to act upon your plan and pursue it wholeheartedly. Paul said in Philippians 3:14, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” James says, resist the devil and he will flee. I am praying for your plans for 2017 to succeed in Jesus’ name.
