Is Jude 24 to be depended upon? “Now unto him that is able to guard you from stumbling, and to set you before the presence of his glory without blemish in exceeding joy.”
Jesus, the Son of God, was sent to earth by God in order to restore humanity to the right standing with God.
Man lost his standing before God at the fall in the Garden of Eden.
When Adam sinned, all humanity sinned with him and by losing all humanity, lost their right and ability to stand before God.
Jesus therefore came to address this problem through His death on the cross, according to 2 Corintinas 5:21.
When Jesus took our place and died on our behalf, He also received our punishment. Finally Jesus was vindicated or justified and we became justified with Him. Jude 24 sums up the precious work of Christ and His ultimate achievement.
Is that presence – of which He speaks here, before which we are to be set with exceeding joy – is that after death or is it now?
It seems very clear to me that we live in His presence now; that we walk in His presence now.
If He cannot present us now before His presence with exceeding joy, He certainly cannot present us before the presence of the Father after death with exceeding joy.
For this truth to be a reality in our lives, we must first accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.
Once we are born again, Jesus presents us to God with exceeding joy.
