It has come to my attention that the leadership of the ANC as well as the country will remain in tatters as long as the selection of the president still favours certain ethnic groups.
Kgalema Motlanthe was the deputy during Thabo Mbeki’s administration. He was pushed aside when the leadership debate started. Now it is time again to discuss who the next president will be.
Cyril Ramaphosa is the current deputy of both the organisation and the country but sections of the ANC are lobbying for a different candidate. They claim that being a deputy does not automatically turn you into a president.
Is he being sidelined because he is not Zulu or Xhosa? Come on! People are going to leave the ANC because of our narrow political minds and hatred of other ethnic groups.
Three metros have been lost so far during the local elections. We are losing the country. Wake up, people, and stop this nonsense of cadre deployment.
We need leaders who can take our country forward.
