The recent squabbles at the Nelson Mandela Metro is an indication that coalition politics in South Africa seldom work.
Even worse, the arrogance of the DA and UDM leaders doesn’t provide us with hope that things will change for the better.
What is disturbing is that when political parties fight among themselves, the people who voted for them always suffer.
Why do people care who is deputy mayor? The masses only care about services, regardless of who the provider is.
It’s high time these parties put the people first. Their arrogance and political beauty contest don’t matter to the people.
Otherwise they must all resign and let people who are serious about serving the people take charge.

It’s true what you say, Tom. We can only hope that members of the DA and UDM are reading this letter, but it’s highly unlikely because they seem to spend all their time fighting for power. It’s very disappointing. This letter wins R200.– Editor
