German philosopher Karl Marx once said: “Social progress can be measured by the social position of women.”
Women need to realise the important role they play in society and the valuable contribution they make to our economy.
It is good to see young girls being accepted into institutions of higher learning.
However, this joy is cut short when young women get involved with men who exploit them and introduce them to a lifestyle that threatens their future.
Young women need to stay away from men who entice them with their fancy cars and money. It makes no sense to risk your future for temporary pleasure.
Rushing into relationships has many undesirable consequences such as unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
Don’t let your family down. You have your whole life ahead of you.
If you do get into a relationship, do it for the right reasons.
Play it safe and date a man who has your best interests at heart.
Focus on your studies instead of running after men for money. A good education is the key to affording the lifestyle you’ve always wanted.
I would also like to appeal to men to think about the consequences of their actions. Taking advantage of young women leaves them depressed and unable to fulfil their potential.
You are robbing us of national treasures.

Some men see women as objects to be exploited. This needs to stop. We need young women who can spot sick deceivers from afar. This letter wins R200.– Editor
