Mandela Day is a special day that brings memorable and remarkable thoughts to our hearts and minds.
This is the day when South Africans commemorate the day when the world icon was born.
Some South Africans went out on Tuesday to change the lives of disadvantaged people.
Others are still waiting to receive anything that can brighten their day. We must know that if we don’t stretch out helping hands to others, we’re letting down people who can’t help themselves.
I would like to salute those who’ve donated and contributed to the lives of indigenous communities. Kindly do that continuously and tirelessly.
There are many things we can do to help others.
Remember, we don’t have to be rich to help. We can go to schools to wash windows, give away our old clothes and blankets, or other items that could be useful.
If we have hands and time, we can help gogos and at churches, libraries, creches, orphanages, non-profit organisations and clinics.
Helping the needy is a way of carrying on with the legacy and culture of giving that Mandela began. As South Africans, we must ensure the rainbow nation doesn’t die.
We must help each other where and whenever we can and as much as we can.
Blessed are those who give because God will bless them too.
