Ford SA must own up and stop sending their customers from pillar to post. The company should have avoided the confusion regarding Kuga models before it got worse. They should have followed in the footsteps of Ford in America, where the model was recalled as soon as the public began complaining.
Now South African motorists are suffering as many Kugas have burst into flames. Ford SA waited too long before acting. They should have acknowledged the fault and fixed it immediately. What is happening now is not good for them, their customers and even people who were planning to buy the Kuga model. It’s important to accept mistakes as soon as possible rather than waiting for the problem to escalate. Ford’s reaction came too late.
The safety and wellbeing of every consumer must be prioritised. I know Ford is one of the most reliable car manufacturers, but they should learn from this serious mistake.
They must make every effort to minimise inconvenience to customers and assure them that their safety is top priority.
I hope Ford SA learnt from this setback and will do better in future.
