DON'T THROW RUBBISH EVERYWHERE!

accreditation

I have observed with utter disgust people throwing rubbish all over the place without worrying about the consequences of their bad behaviour.

People, rubbish belongs in the bin!

Some people have a tendency to dump things such as tyres, bottles and old electrical appliances in isolated places.

This has a negative human impact and is a serious environmental issue that needs to be addressed with immediate effect.

In townships such as Soweto, Tembisa and Alexandra, we have a high rate of rodent infestation. Rats are a danger to our lives as they nest in accumulated tyres and this can lead to disease.

Cigarette butts and filters are also a threat to wildlife, as some animals mistake them for food.

I’d like to urge all citizens to refrain from littering as this impacts negatively on our lives. Let us save ourselves from this unfortunate behaviour and keep South Africa clean.
