Stay out of trouble and petty wars during the festive holiday. There are people who are going to get injured by being stabbed, losing their teeth or even losing their lives.
You’ll always find troublesome drunkards who are ready to ruin other people’s excitement and peace. It’s not nice to be beaten during the festive time.
Even if you see people fighting or arguing, please just stay out of it – it’s not worth getting involved. It also helps to be very aware of your surroundings.
If you walk somewhere, look in all directions and make a point of letting everyone know you’re paying attention by keeping your head up and looking alert.
Don’t go and look for trouble. Choose to stay out of danger to enjoy yourself. Choose gatherings where you feel the highest comfort level, and don’t attend too many parties.
Responsible drinking is not a bad idea at all. People must remain disciplined and respect others. Nobody likes an idiot, especially a drunken one.
Drinking irresponsibly leads to you conducting yourself in a way that you usually wouldn’t. Take pride and drink sensibly. Committing a crime is not acceptable. Bear in mind that alcohol can take you to places you wouldn’t normally go.
Hundreds of thousands of injuries every year come from alcohol abuse. Drinking too much regularly can affect the way you conduct yourself, especially around other people.
Next year is just around the corner, and good behaviour will get you there.
Take care of yourself.
Rachel Molema, Theresa Mews
Great message. Taking care of yourself and responsibly doing what is best for you and your loved ones is the right thing to do. We should not only avoid alcohol abuse, but also stay away from drinking and driving, driving recklessly and spending our hard-earned cash on things we don’t really need.
