WATCH: STAINED MONEY CAUSES PANIC EKASI!

accreditation

IT WAS early on Monday morning when Aubrey Dlamini (38) stood at the ATM waiting for his money to come out.

But he was in for a rude surprise. His money came out, but it was stained with blue paint!

While Aubrey was still staring at his money, he heard an old lady scream.

The money she pulled out was also stained with blue ink.

Now the community who use the standalone Absa Cash Express machine in Mofolo, Soweto are up in arms. They want clean money.

“We are not criminals,” said Aubrey.

“No shop accepts this money. We didn’t blow up any ATM to get it. This is my hard-earned cash but I can’t use it,” he said.

The community says the ATM has been giving out stained money all week.

The South African Banking Risk Information Centre, which focuses on combating bank-related crime, said they’ll look into the matter and do what they can to rectify the situation.
