THE dumb thug thought he was being smart when he broke the cameras at a liquor store before robbing it.

But he didn’t break all the cameras – and one was left watching him and recording everything!

The thug was caught on CCTV stealing from Mathousand Liquor Store in zone 1 of Ga-Rankuwa, Tshwane, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Store owner Buti Modise (54), who lives next door, said the foolish thug turned off seven cameras but did not notice an eighth one.

Buti said when he and his family woke up, they found the store’s door open and a wall broken.

He said the thug made off with about R25 000, a firearm and a laptop. “He knew where the safe was and that there was a gun inside,” he noted.

Buti said although only one thug was captured on camera, it looked as if he was not alone.

“He was talking to someone but he was the only one who came into our yard,” he said.

Ga-Rankuwa police spokesman Captain Matthews Nkoadi confirmed that a case of business robbery was opened but added that no one had been arrested yet.

Anyone with information should contact the Ga-Rankuwa cops on 012 797 8800.
