WHEN the vice-principal walked in on grade 10 pupils writing their exam half an hour earlier than allowed, she was angry.

She started going around the room checking who was furthest ahead . . . and Khotso Mothapo (20) was the unlucky one.

Then next moment Khotso allegedly received a hot klap – even though he said he had simply been following the invigilator’s instructions!

Khotso said the vice-principal then told him she would call cops to teach him a lesson.

The incident happened on Friday at AMS Makunyane Secondary School in
Seshego zone 5, Limpopo.

Other grade 10 pupils at the school confirmed that they witnessed cops and the vice-principal assaulting their classmate.

Khotso added: “We arrived at class about 1.30pm and were seated. Our invigilator, who realised we were all in class, started handing out question papers and told us to start writing.

“The vice-principal arrived at 2pm. She asked why we were so far ahead.

“Then she took my sheet and asked why I was writing so fast. She slapped me and called the police who came in and also slapped and kicked me.”

Dr Naledzani Rasila, spokesman for the Limpopo Education Department, said they would investigate.

“We advise the boy to open a case of assault against the cops and the vice-principal,” said Rasila.

Seshego police spokesman Warrant
Officer Mothemane Malefo also advised the pupil to open cases of assault.
