NOLUFEFE Batallion (38) from Block 6 in Philippi, Cape Town said sitting at home while looking for a job won’t put food on the table.
The mother of two told Daily Sun that she has been struggling to get a job for years and decided to start a small business while still looking.
The 38-year-old sells chicken feet and gizzards to put food on her table.
“After struggling to get a job for years I decided to do my own thing. I started this business about four months ago and people have been supportive. I sell chicken feet for 50c each and gizzards for R5.
“On a good day, I make about R150,” said Nolufefe.
She wants to expand her business.
“I don’t like people who feel sorry for themselves when they don’t have jobs. I believe I should rather do something, even if it’s small, while I wait,” said Nolufefe.
The mother of two said her children have what they need.
“I can cater for their basic needs from my small business.”
