BARKO Financial Services is offering a reward of R10 000 to help catch this man.
This suspect is wanted in connection with housebreaking and malicious damage to property.
According to Thomas Motau, the financial company’s investigator, the man was caught on CCTV tripping the main electric gate switch at Bertinka Hof Complex in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga on 24 October.
“He pasted sellotape on the gate sensor and a silver Golf 5 apparently belonging to the suspect’s accomplice was seen entering the complex. Five flats were broken into and valuable items including such as plasma TVs and cellphones were stolen,” said Thomas.
He said all the suspects’ movements within the complex were captured on camera.
Thomas said in another incident, the same suspect was seen on CCTV footage intentionally breaking the main gate cameras at the Ellis Court Complex on 28 October.
“The silver Polo entered the complex and drove out again.
“Nothing was missing after the suspects left, however a case of malicious damage to property was reported and registered with the Lydenburg police,” he said.
Thomas added that the registration numbers of both vehicles were unidentifiable.
Thomas believes that the suspect is not from the Lydenburg area as local people do not know him.
Lydenburg police spokeswoman Elizabeth Magoa said: “Cases of residential burglary and malicious damage to property are being investigated but no arrests have been made.”
